Tumbleweeds
It's been a while since there were any updates to the family website about four years ago, and a lot has happened since then. Kids grow up and move away, locations change, old interests fade and new ones emerge.
Since the first version of Little Acres back in 1998, a revolution of sorts has taken place in the area of personal websites. Gone are the days when one person or another would sit down and forge out a webpage or two, fill it with pictures or other such content then tell their friends a family about it. Nowawdays you can just point-and-click, cut-and-paste and create your own content or embed someone elses content and call it your own. Gone also are the days when you wanted the world to know who and where you are. Safety and security concerns have become more of a factor. It is the web equivalent of having to always lock your house now when years ago you didn't need to.
This website has always been a largely personal venture. As such, it has proved to be a pretty big task keeping it up to date. With the every day duties and responsibilties we all go through, I have not had the time to keep things going here. The website has suffered from neglect. The most recent evidence was that the site got hacked by Chinese and/or Turkish hackers and I didn't notice it for who knows how long.
Anyway, I have gotten back into it, and spruced up the design a little. I've also cleaned out some old items that are no longer valid or relevant. Individual family members pages may be updated over time, but will likely just be links to individual My Space or Facebook pages. The old content will still be here for whomever may happen across the site.
